Video Quality of the iPhone XR - Indoor test for Vloggers

In this video I take a look at the video capability of the iPhone XR when it comes to shooting a face to camera VLog style of video.

I set the iPhone XR up on my tripod along side my Canon 5D MK III with the 85mm L series portrait lens which is still my preferred Camera for most of the videos on this channel.

I think the the video quality and audio have come along way in this latest version of the iPhone, however I don't think the quality is anywhere near as high as using a DSLR camera an external microphones.

I tend to push my camera back a few metres and this is where the introduction of room noise and echo can come in to play and require the use of an external microphone more than ever.

Even though the iPhone boasts incredible specs when it comes to the video recording from 4k and FUll HD resolution, the smaller image sensor introduces a significant amount of noise at low noise levels.

So in this video you can see the side by side view of both the iPhone and the Canon and be the judge yourself.

In summary, despite the obvious superiority of the Canon in this situation the iPhone does still produce great quality footage that can be colour corrected to reach a very acceptable standard.
