The new Canon EOS R Full Frame Mirrorless - Overview of Specas and Why I won't be buying
Description
In this video, I take a look at the features and specifications of the new Canon EOS R Full Frame Mirrorless Camera.
Canon just announced the release of the much anticipated Full Frame Mirrorless R camera and a new rage of dedicated RF mount lenses to go with it.
Before we get into the specifications of the camera and the lenses I wanted to have a quick discussion about why both Nikon and Canon released their full frame mirrorless cameras this month and what you stand to gain from this format of camera.
Miracles Cameras have been gaining popularity over the past few years but most manufacturers have used the micro 4/3 or APSC sensor. Sony with the release of the A7 and now the A9 however have been using a full frame sensor for some years and with each model have made progressive improvements that have been able to lure photographers over form Canon and Nikon who wanted all the benefits of a professional Full Frame Camera in a smaller body.
So even though Canon and Nikon have have been producing mirrorless cameras they did not see the need to provide one with a full frame sensor geared towards the professional market, until they were confronted with an ever increasing number of their customers switching over to Sony. So in many ways this new release EOS R and the Nikon Z is an attempt to stop this brand exodus and provide a backwards compatible solution for any photographer considering a switch to mirrorless.
