Strava's New Local Legends: How it works!
Description
Today Strava has rolled out their new Local Legend award/trophy, which awards the individual (both overall and female) that has achieved the highest number of reps of a given Strava Segment within the last 90 days. The Local Legend functionality works on a rolling 90-day period, so once you drop beyond that time period for a number of reps, you'll lose the crown to someone else.
This feature isn't meant to replace a KOM/QOM/CR, and is valid for both running and cycling. Instead, it's meant to offer a secondary way to be recognized on the platform even if you aren't the fastest cyclist or runner in town.
In this video I dive into all the nuances of it, and how I became the local legend on one nearby climb.
