Removable magnetic 3D printing surface on the cheap
Description
I wanted to see if I could give my regular non-fancy i3 3D Printer a removable magnetic printing surface and not spend much money doing it. It works... but not sure I can recommend it!
IMPORTANT: Let's be clear, the tin signs I used are about as rigid as cardboard when compared to proper spring steel. They will NOT last very long especially if you need to heavily flex them. It's impossible for me to source spring steel online in Australia however you might be able to find some. I was however very impressed with the temperature resistance and magnetic hold down capability of the magnetic L plates. Definitely worth considering if you can find yourself some high carbon steel to go on top of it (PLEASE don't cut yourself though!)
