You can purchase the parts individually, but a complete rebuild is the easiest.
Tracks V2 Track # R0526100:
This is the first thing I look at when I notice the cleaner is not moving or turning well in a pool. The teeth on these tracks wear down over time, and they are the teeth that grab the Directional Device and move the cleaner. The ATLAS XT and MAXX cannot move if the teeth are worn down.
Direction Control Device, V2, Side A - R0916100:
If the ATLAS XT or MAXX faces you from the front where the logo is, Directional Control Device A would be on your right side. This is important because these parts are different. Over time, these devices will become common wear since the cleaner constantly moves and changes directions in the pool. Changing these out is easy. There is just one screw holding it to the body and one screw from the outside. If you notice the cleaner going in a tight circle in one direction in the pool, one of the Directional Devices has failed.
Direction Control Device V2 Side B - R0916200:
It is the same as Side A, but this is the one to your left if you are facing the front of the ATLAS XT or MAXX.
Drive Shaft Assembly - R0915700:
The driveshaft is a critical part of the ATLAS XT & MAXX. When this part wears down, it cannot spin the Directional Device, and the cleaner will seem like the Directional Device has failed, but it could just be the Drive Shaft not engaging because it is worn down. If you change a Directional Device and find that it still does not move, check for a worn Drive Shaft.
Engine Assembly with bearings - R0915600:
The Engine does wear out, and you will notice the cleaner moving much slower in the pool, or debris that wouldn’t jam it in the past may now be stopping the cleaner. It is an easy part to change out and will get your cleaner moving at top speed again.
You can keep rebuilding this cleaner for several years, whether it is worth rebuilding at one point or purchasing a new unit. All the parts are modular and affordable, so rebuilding your cleaner for as long as possible.
