Its a busy, action packed episode today from LEO as he discusses the industry finally catching up with Computex earlier this year and what might be happening at CES 2019. He also discusses buying some new VEGA 64 cards on sale at £400 in the UK and showcases some new products from EKWB and Alphacool.

I was chuckling at some of the comments below Storms review of the AKRacing Core Series EX Gaming Chair such as

and it occurred to me that I am the face of diversity. The reason KitGuru keeps me around is to raise the average age of the team from the natural level around 24 years old to a more respectable 28. I am glad that I am doing my part.
Yup, this middle aged geezer is the most diverse element of KitGuru.

The industry has been catching up with itself since Computex and we are now seeing the arrival of products such as the Asus ROG Phone and G.Skill Trident Z Royal DDR4 memory.

Core i7-9700 K and Core i5-9600K

I have been busy clearing out some of my older PC hardware and gathering in new components such as a second RTX 2080, a pair of Asus ROG Strix Vega 64 cards that were discounted by OCUK to £410, along with more cooling hardware.

Talk about poor timing. I bought my second RTX 2080 on the 14th November and it was delivered on the 21st. Today, the 23rd, I read that Nvidia is bundling Battlefield V with purchases of RTX 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti between 20th November and 7th January so no game code for Leo.

On the subject of Nvidia, you can.

And what about the last few weeks of 2018 as well as CES in the second week of January?

I am hoping to see 28-core Xeon W-3175X before CES and after that we want Intel 9th Gen. CPUs in laptops along with Nvidia 20-series graphics in laptops.

The worst case scenario is Intel 9th Gen. with Nvidia 10-series or, possibly, Intel 8th Gen with Nvidia 20-series.

At CES we can be confident AMD will be crowing about their Rome EPYC and they may well talk about Zen 2 for the desktop. We dont expect any news about Next Gen APUs any time soon.

We dont expect to see 7nm Navi graphics any time soon. The fact that AMD has recently launch the warmed-over RX 590 suggests Navi may be further out than we hope. Say, Computex 2019?

While AMD has plenty going on there is unlikely to be much to see on the desktop.
