LEOS NOTES:
Leo Says 24

Nvidia GTX 1180 is expected on 30th August, followed by GTX 1170 on 30th September and then GTX 1160 on 30th October with AIB partner cards following one month after each Nvidia Founders Edition card.
Will Turing use the same fabrication process as GTX 1080?
We expect it to perform like a supercharged GTX 1080 with the addition of Ray Tracing features and without any Volta Tensor Cores.

Intel states it will launch 10nm with systems arriving on sale during ‘Holiday 2019’ which is taken to mean October 2019.
Solid rumours that new Intel desktop CPUs are coming soon and might be announced within the week.
https://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/ryan-burgess/intel-core-i9-9900k-i7-9700k-and-i5-9600k-specs-leaked/

Intel Core i9-9900K up to 5GHz, i7-9700K and i5-9600K plus Z390 chipset
All three are expected to be 95W parts at base speed of 3.6GHz
i9-9900K with 8 cores and 16 threads, maximum boost of 5GHz on two cores.
i7-9700K with 8 cores and no HT
i5-9600K with 6 threads and no HT
surely this will require a soldered heat spreader for the 8-core i9 model at the least.
The CPU technology is expected to be 14nm+++ and is named Coffee Lake Refresh, rather than a new name such as Whiskey Lake.

does that i9-9900K effectively replace Skylake-X?
i7-9700K ought to kick Ryzen 7 all over the park

Intel Cooper Lake-AP and SP will support Barlow Pass DIMMS which seem to be Next-Gen Optane 3D X Point. These monster dual CPUs are due to be rated at 350W

In Q2 2018 AMD had its best financial quarter for seven years and make a profit. Good work AMD.
Ryzen is selling well, EPYC ought to take off at 7nm and sell like hot cakes.

AMD rumoured to move to 16 cores on the desktop using AM4, very likely during 2019.
This would presumably be 3rd Gen Ryzen using 7nm, doubling up from the present 4+4 cores to 8+8.

Apple 2018 MacBook Pro throttles HARD.
This is not CPU overheating but is the VRMs overheating.
The ‘fix’ is to restrict power delivery so everything is happy, however this indicates the CPU is being restricted and will receive less power than it desires.
