Here's a pile of audio samples from the camera across a wide range of subjects. From testing what happens when you put it in water, to running to cycling to high wind...and just talking in general. Note that the external mic adapter for the GoPro Hero 7 is exactly the same non-awesome situation as the Hero 5/6, the big clunky adapter. No change there unfortunately. Ultimately, I think this is the best waterproof mic setup we've seen yet from GoPro, as well as probably the best waterproof action camera setup we've seen (as the Sony camera while probably having better audio isn't waterproof).
