In this videos I go through 5 steps to recording and mastering your audio tracks.
Whether you are producing a Vlog, Educational Video or Live stream for Youtube or Twitch or creating a Podcast it all begins with selecting the right microphone and recording equipment.
Once you do that you need to experiment with your microphone in terms of placement and direction to find its sweet spot and when your voice sounds the bests.
The final step is to set your recording level to allow enough headroom for peaking and to avoid too much room noise.
Once you have done all that you're ready to take the audio track into your favourite audio editor for mastering.
I tend to start with normalisation of the audio file first, then if needed I'll apply some noise reduction and after that some EQ, a compressor and finally a limiter.
