Description

Geastar is 3D printing disposable bowls and cups of clay water and salt. The company has raised $6.5 million to these environmentally sound polymer and paper cup alternatives.

Bright Brailson Mansingh and others have mixed PLA with chitosan and chitin from insects. The team says that they have made an environmentally friendly material. But, I´m skeptical of this one and the one before.

Zois Michail Tsikriteas and others at the University of Bath have developed an antimicrobial ferroelectric composite with microbial properties out of barium calcium zirconate titanate (BCZT)  and polycaprolactone (PCL).
